Be a volunteer to do things!

Every good thing needs a start. It is a very basic problem in all of us to start anything new. If we start a thing, then we will follow that and that will be in our day to day activities from that starting point. For example, consider the shopping done at a grocery store. We simply go to any grocery store and buy vegetables, fruits and bring those in a polythene bag which is used to carry things and that is given to us by the shopkeeper. It is a basic thing and if we have taken any bag from our home, then there is no need to get one polythene bag and to add the pollution. All eco loving persons are advising to take a bag while go to any kind of shopping to avoid the plastic waste. But we never follow that.

When we will follow things is that, if the shopkeeper is going to charge any amount of money for the polythene bag, then we will take a bag from our home. This should not happen again in other go green initiative. All must be a volunteers and you should take the bag from your home without considering the money charged for the bag. I have taken this for an example and the volunteerism should make others to do the thing and we should not think that no one is doing the thing and why should I? like that. You should be the first person to help our planet in any good possible method.

Work from home!

Hi all, today I am going to share one more tip to get more greener. You might have understood that by reading the heading. Yes! It it about work from home. This is the dream word for most of the people and there are few companies who allow their management level of employees to work from home for few days a week or a month. But not all the companies are giving this option for their employees. They have their own concerns. But it is a great idea to work from home as the daily commute to office is checked and the pollution, traffic, travel time are all reduced.

The people who are all having this option on their office should not waste this and should use this to save the planet and if your company doesn’t allow these kind of options, you can just make sure that your work from home environment will be just like the work from office environment and if the management is convinced, then you can get that option.

It is in your hands to follow all the schedules and to take proper breaks to ensure good work life balance and to woo the management. If the management is satisfied, then they may implement this throughout the organization and this will help in their cost reducing factor and the big office space can be evacuated.

In this way, you can make a big difference and can contribute to the greener world.

Give green gifts!

You can go for planet conservation in all the things that you are doing and one example for such kind of act is giving gift in a greener way. What is there in giving gift? You may ask like this. I will say that you can give your gift in a greener way if you follow the below tips.

  1. Be sure that the gift that you are giving will be used. Normally if you give a namesake gift, then it won’t be used unless the person getting the gift really likes it or find it is a useful one.
  2. Don’t give usual gift like wall clock, watches, etc. These gifts are given by almost all people and it may increase the waste.
  3. Try to give consumable gift like organic teas, fresh flowers, etc.
  4. Try to give some creative gifts like the baby sweater that you knit by yourself. This kind of gift will take a special place and will be serving for long time by reducing the material waste.
  5. Try to give some quality gifts so that it will be respected and will be used by your friend for a longer time.
  6. You can even make the gift packing a reusable one by wrapping the gift with a scarf. This will be a great idea while giving gift and everybody will like it.

Easy way to contribute!

In my previous post, I have said that you can use hybrid cars if you are considering and trying to do something about the global warming and to protect the eco system. Hybrid cars are not for the ordinary man as they are priced above all the available traditional cars. So how can you take part in the green brigade with respect to the usage of car? There are many number of ways to take part and buying a hybrid car is not the only way to support the eco system.

Some of the effective ways to protect the planet are,

  1. Reduce the usage of the car that you are using now.
  2. Use public transport and use your car only when it is absolutely needed.
  3. Share your car with other people so that you will gain few new friends and also you will help the eco system
  4. Use two wheelers if you are commuting alone
  5. If the travel distance is too short, you can go by walk or you can use bicycle with which you can gain good health and also can save fuel, protect the planet, etc.
  6. Drive your vehicle at constant speed and don’t accelerate suddenly.

Thus you can take part in the green brigade if you follow these steps.

  •  With the hybrid car, you should still continue the regular practice of driving at constant speed and no sudden accelerations because these cars too need proper driving practice for better fuel efficiency.
