Be a volunteer to do things!

Every good thing needs a start. It is a very basic problem in all of us to start anything new. If we start a thing, then we will follow that and that will be in our day to day activities from that starting point. For example, consider the shopping done at a grocery store. We simply go to any grocery store and buy vegetables, fruits and bring those in a polythene bag which is used to carry things and that is given to us by the shopkeeper. It is a basic thing and if we have taken any bag from our home, then there is no need to get one polythene bag and to add the pollution. All eco loving persons are advising to take a bag while go to any kind of shopping to avoid the plastic waste. But we never follow that.

When we will follow things is that, if the shopkeeper is going to charge any amount of money for the polythene bag, then we will take a bag from our home. This should not happen again in other go green initiative. All must be a volunteers and you should take the bag from your home without considering the money charged for the bag. I have taken this for an example and the volunteerism should make others to do the thing and we should not think that no one is doing the thing and why should I? like that. You should be the first person to help our planet in any good possible method.

Work from home!

Hi all, today I am going to share one more tip to get more greener. You might have understood that by reading the heading. Yes! It it about work from home. This is the dream word for most of the people and there are few companies who allow their management level of employees to work from home for few days a week or a month. But not all the companies are giving this option for their employees. They have their own concerns. But it is a great idea to work from home as the daily commute to office is checked and the pollution, traffic, travel time are all reduced.

The people who are all having this option on their office should not waste this and should use this to save the planet and if your company doesn’t allow these kind of options, you can just make sure that your work from home environment will be just like the work from office environment and if the management is convinced, then you can get that option.

It is in your hands to follow all the schedules and to take proper breaks to ensure good work life balance and to woo the management. If the management is satisfied, then they may implement this throughout the organization and this will help in their cost reducing factor and the big office space can be evacuated.

In this way, you can make a big difference and can contribute to the greener world.

School Teachers task!

Here is one more method to go green. It is by teaching our children the importance of going green and the impacts if we did not follow that strictly. This work can be easily done at school. Yes, almost 95% of children are attentive in the school and they consider what taught in school is right than they hear from outside world. So to build a brighter and greener future, it is important to teach all the children to go in a greener way.

School teacher can teach the students about zero waste products, recycling, composing, etc. You can also teach them to prepare the natural cleaner using vinegar and water, can ask them to calculate the carbon emission in the trip of reaching school from their home and vice versa.

You can teach them all and more than that, you can get from them above what you have taught them. Yes! you can ask each and every student about any greener ideas and I assure that you will be given hell lot of ideas and few will be worth of implementing all over the school or in the city.

So teachers, It is in your hands to teach the future generation about the green. All the best.

Harvest rain water!

Water is essential for living and only 2% of the water are available as fresh one and the remaining water are found in the sea and in ocean as salt water. So it is our duty to conserve the available fresh water by all the possible ways. Since water is considered as the source for the origin of life, you can understand its importance and its benefits.

If you have discovered water in mars, then you can readily shift to the planet mars from earth and can start living there as the basic source for the life is found there. OK. What the thing that all of us have to do is just to use the water as minimum as possible and to recycle the used water to the possible limit. Since recycling requires certain process, you can go for reduced usage and hence you can help this world and the future generation to live longer.

The following things that you can do to preserve water resource,

  • Build a rain water harvesting plant in your home and guide the rain water that falls in the roof to the rain water harvesting pit.
  • Do not let the water leak for a long period. Fix the tap as soon as possible.
  • Use the recycled water for gardening and for cleaning purposes.

Invest green!

Do you know the way of investing green? There are many ways of going green and it is one of the best thing that you can do without any extra expense. The following things are to be done by you for investing in green,

  • Choose a green sector: Invest in renewable sources, organic companies, natural foods, etc.
  •  Screen the green: Screen the available green companies that you are going to invest. That is, you can go to green vegetables but not nuclear products.
  • Create your own green strategy: Create your own strategy by reading annual reports, consult with an green investment analyst.

Supporting the green companies will by the way support those companies and you will be using your investment tactics to help those companies as they are working in large extent to help to bring a greener world. So start to invest in green companies and help this planet and our future generation.

Spread the awareness about go green!

It is not enough if you are following the go green part and trying to save the planet. It is our duty to make an awareness for the illiterate people who knows nothing about the go green and helping the planet. Some may be thinking that how if a single person is following the things will change the world and will be leading his own life without any concern about the earth. So it is our duty to make them understand that only the drops that makes an ocean and each and every little contribution is counted.

This kind of spreading the awareness may take some time. But this will help the planet a lot and you can make a big difference by spreading the awareness. If you can’t spread it to many people, at least try it with your neighbor and slowly with others whenever possible.

It is not necessary to spend your time and to spread the awareness, you can just ask anyone to stop wasting the water as many people in the world are struggling without any water and if the person understands the mistake and stops wasting the water, then it is success for you. Else you can try it with some other at some other time. But you should not stop that if someone is not accepting your thought to help the planet. That person will realize that at later point of time.

Concentrate on small things!

There are lot of things that happen in everyone’s day to day life and it is in the hands of the person who is playing the part to take it to the right or in a wrong way. For example, consider a boat. If it travel in the right direction, it can travel easily and it can reach the shore quickly. If it travels in the wrong direction or in the opposite way, it drowns or something bad happens. This is the situation that is going on now. If you are moving in the right path of environment protection, then you can save the entire planet. Else, the planet will be drowned soon.

The following are some tiny things that can make a considerable change if all are following it,

  • Reduce the brightness of your computer for longer batters and for less power consumption.
  • Switch off every lights if they are not in use.
  • Switch to CFL or LED lights to save power.
  • Reduce the usage of plastic
  • Switch off the monitor whenever you are leaving your seat.
  • Reduce the paper printing.
  • Use your gadgets for taking notes and instead of paper to the possible ways.

Hence by following these ways, you can protest our planet.

Calculate the carbon footprint!

You can start the things like reducing the plastic usage, reducing the usage of air conditioners, reducing the usage of papers, etc. But the main thing that you have to concentrate is the usage of vehicle daily. You will not start to think about alternate source of transport unless you realize the amount of pollution that you make in your day to day life.

The CO2 is the major green house gas and there are also many other gases like Nitrous Oxide, Methane, etc that contribute to the pollution. Find the picture below to calculate the difference that you can make in your life to our planet.

Gasoline gives 10.5 kg (23.1 lbs) CO2e/gallon, diesel gives 12 kg (26.4 lbs) CO2e/gallon,  propane gives 8.5 kg (18.7 lbs) CO2e/gallon and natural gas gives 1.5 kg (3.3 ibs) CO2e/meter3. If you would like to know how much of the total is derived from CO2, you can use the above chart.

Just do your duty!

You can see that in any place no one is obeying the rule and no one is concerning about the planet and throwing the waste papers, bottles by the side of the road and doing all the bad things. In such place, you can’t do anything. You can’t go and make them realize that it is bad and that is good because you may be hurt mentally as they won’t follow the things as they are not living with respect to the law.

In such situations, you can just keep mum and you can do your part of being environmental friendly by reducing the water usage, not throwing the plastic by the road side, etc. You should not join them in polluting the environment by thinking that all are doing like that and what will make a difference if the single person yourself is doing something to save the planet. Each and every single drop makes an ocean and you can easily make a difference by following the proper things to save the planet.
